12.2.22 Covid-19 ECE Telebriefing Invitation

11.29.22 The Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) in partnership with Community Partners has launched “The Los Angeles County Childcare Provider Recovery (CPR) Grant Program” for eligible licensed child care facilities that were negatively impacted by COVID-19 related public health or financial hardships, or other pandemic-related challenges. All licensed child care facilities located within Los Angeles County excluding the City of Los Angeles are invited to apply.  The program website includes the grant application in multiple languages, program details such as eligibility criteria and how funding will be prioritized, videos in English and Spanish with step-by-step application instructions, and a phone number and email address for questions:  https://lacountycprgrant.submittable.com/submit.

Overview

The LA County Early Care and Education (ECE) Facility Development Project  is led  by the LA County Department of Public Health – Office for the Advancement of Early Care and Education (OAECE) and the LA  County Department of Regional Planning in partnership with LA County Department of Public Works – Building and Safety Division, LA County Fire Department, California Department of Social Services – Community Care Licensing Division, Public Counsel, and First 5 LA.  As a collaborative effort, the project has developed activities to support ECE providers with facility development.

Please join OAECE and Public Council for a webinar on how to successfully use the newly released: “Child Care for All: How to Develop and Renovate Early Care and Education Facilities in Los Angeles County” toolkit. The webinar will cover how to use the toolkit to understand the steps and resources needed for obtaining approvals to renovate and construct new ECE facilities.  The session will be provided in ENGLISH and ESPAÑOL, please register using this link.

 LA County ECE Facilities Process Webinar 

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2022 6pm-7pm

The webinar will provide information on LA County’s process to request facilities planning and building & safety permits needed for certain types of child care space renovations.  The webinar will include presentations by LA County’s Department of Regional Planning, Department of Public Works’ Building and Safety Division, Fire Department, and CDSS Child Care Licensing Division.

Webinar is for LA County’s process that covers LA County unincorporated areas, however, everyone is welcome to attend

The webinar will require registration, will be recorded, and provided in English and Spanish.

LA County Sponsored Application Clinic Webinar for CDSS Minor Renovation and Repairs RFA

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2022 6pm-7pm

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) released its Minor Renovation and Repairs Request for Application (RFA) to preserve, enhance, or expand child care spaces on Monday, 2/7/22.

The OAECE and the Department of Regional Planning have developed in collaboration with the other partners (see list above) will host a webinar that walks through the RFA and its application requirements.

The webinar will require registration, will be recorded, and provided in English and Spanish.

LA County Support Reviews for CDSS Minor Renovation and Repairs Applications

APPLICATION REVIEW SIGN-UP LINK

We will offer an “application review” for providers before the applications are due and provide feedback on the application.  This support will be offered on a limited basis and to providers who meet a specific criteria.   Information will be posted by Monday, 2/14/2022 5pm.
